The SRK Rhizotomy Kit was designed by Dr. C. Norman Shealy, MD, Dr. Eric R. Cosman, PhD, and B.J. Cosman, MS. The SRK-TC Electrode has an insulated shaft except for an uninsulated tip that is 7.5 mm long and 1.6 mm in diameter (16 gauge). The tip has a rounded end and a built-in thermocouple (TC) temperature sensor for thermal monitoring of the RF lesion process.
The kit comes with six SRK-LP 14 gauge Guide Needles for percutaneous tissue penetration and initial positioning in the direction of the target site. Once in place, a Guide Needle’s stylet is removed, and the SRK-TC Electrode is inserted for final X-ray positioning. This is followed by stimulation and RF lesioning.
The SRK Kit ‘s CB112-TC Cable connects the SRKTC Electrode to the Cosman RF Generators
